Kathleen S. Button, M.Ed. Kathy is an Educational Specialist who joined ILD during the summer of 2003. She has a B.A. in psychology from Cornell University, and a M.Ed. in special education from Boston College. She is a certified teacher who has taught students with learning and attentional difficulties in both public and private schools, including Acton Public Schools, Nashoba Brooks School, and Benchmark School in Media, PA. With training and experience in a variety of multisensory approaches for reading, spelling, and writing, including Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood, Project Read, and Benchmark Word Identification, Kathy has particular expertise in designing individualized instructional programs to support struggling readers and writers.
